While reading, students should take time during reading each “step” to jot down notes as to how that step is reflected in the section. A graphic organizer is included to help organize responses. At the end of the novel, students should design a final one-pager project to create a visual breakdown of Natalie’s journey, mapping out her hypotheses, the climax of her egg drop project, and how she learns that love and people are wonderfully “breakable” but capable of healing. The final one-pager should include a representation of how each of the steps of the scientific method applied to the theme of the novel. |
